Sports & Athletics

The Sports Programs offered are Tennis, Swimming and Yoga.

 

The skills the player learn through these physical activities are easily transferrable to the classroom. These programs ensure that all of our children are physically active which helps to curb the rise of childhood obesity. The main tennis goals are having a fun experience playing an individual and team sport. Tennis students learn strategy, patience and finesse. The  swimming goals are: water safety, endurance, relaxation and self discovery.  On average, children of color drown more than any other child population in the United States. Thirty two years of swimming instruction at MLS have helped to lower this average.  Yoga classes enhance concentration skills, boost confidence, improves general well-being and helps children handle everyday stressors.

 

All sports classes are held weekly for one hour. A small fee is charged for each class. We are fortunate to have Leading Bay Area instructors.
